what size flue liner do i need for a woodburner ?
A minimum flue diamter of 6 inches is required for stoves up to 20 kw. 5 inch liner can be used for some DEFRA approved stoves cif the manufacturer states this is acceptable.
what length flue liner do I need?
The length of chimney flue liner should be measured from the top of the chimney stack I.e. where it would connect with the pot or cowling, down to the chimney closure plate that sits just above the rigid flue pipe. A good method is to ask your chimney sweep to measure it, when they are next cleaning your stack.
What is the difference between 316 & 904 flue liner?
This refers to the grade of stainless steel used in construction of the liner, 904 being a higher grade, and therefore stronger and suitable for burning a wider variety of fuels such as coke ,peat and smokeless fuels. Opt for 904 grade if you want the flexibility of being able to use these fuels (subject to your appliance's manufacturers specifications).
