The liner should also be able to withstand the high temperatures generated when the wood burner is in use and during damp conditions that often occur inside chimneys.
We here at Flexifluedirect sell superior solid fuel flexible liners that are manufactured from the best grade of stainless steel. This will ensure that the liner you choose will last for many years and we offer a lifetime warranty on our flue liners*. Also make sure that the liner you buy is the right size for your Installation. We offer our liners in diameters from 5" - 8".
About the liners
Our flexi flue liners are made of a twin-lined, grade 1 stainless steel. All of our flexi liners conform with the grading and testing standards set by Hetas and BSRIA. The designation number for the flexi liner is EN1856-T450-P2-VML-L500-24-G.
When using flexi liner for an installation, you cannot reduce the size of it, as you are restricting the flow of heat as it makes its way upwards.
When installing the liner, it is essential that the arrows on the side of the liner are facing in the upwards position. The flexi liner cannot be fitted directly to your appliance and must be connected via an adaptor that can be purchased separately. Before you install liner of any kind, we highly recommend that your chimney stack is swept and is clear of any debris, as it may interfere with the performance of the liner. Although you can hire an installer to install the liner for you, if you're in a position and willing to do so, you can install the liner yourself, but it would still need to be signed off by a HETAS engineer or a member of your local registered council.
We recommend that your liner is swept at least twice a year by a professional chimney sweep. Do not use and chemical based solutions on the liner and for general maintenance, the use of non-metallic brushes is permitted.
The standard operating temperature of the flexi liners is 450°C for solid materials and 250°C for gas and oil.
